The path passes three lakes – Lake Todnitzsee, Kleiner Tonteich and Großer Tonteich. Swans, ducks, great crested grebes, coots and many other species live here. The Kleiner Tonteich and Großer Tonteich lakes are former clay pits, and the water quality is outstanding. One of the region’s traditional nudist bathing areas can be found here. The lakes provide the ideal swimming conditions for locals and visitors and are very popular. The circular path is ideal for a swimming trip for the whole family in the summer.

How to get there:
  • Public transport: From Berlin central station, take the RE2 (Cottbus) to Königs Wusterhausen. From here, take the RB24 (Senftenberg) regional train to Bestensee (about 1 hour).
  • Car: From Berlin via the A113, A13 and B246 to Bestensee (about 1 hour).

Route: Bestensee station, Hauptstrasse, Wilhelm Franke bridge over the River Glunze, turn left at Am Glunzenbusch, banks of Lake Todnitzsee, at “Seeidyll” (street), take a right over the B 179 Kameruner Strasse, turn right at Weg am Tonsee, Kleiner Tonteich lake, ditch between the lakes Kleiner and Großer Tonteich, Großer Tonteich, Bindower Strasse, B 179 / Spreewaldstrasse right, Strasse Am Todnitzsee, Karl-Marx-Strasse, Bestensee sports area, Paul-Sievers-Strasse, left into Zeesener Strasse, Bestensee station
