"Dub" means oak in Slavic, and so veteran oaks can also be found in the varied forest area of the Dubrow. The southern part of the Dubrow is a nature reserve and designated as a "natural forest". Here nature can develop without any human intervention.

Water also plays a role on this hike. The hiking trail leads along the high shore of Hölzernen See and Frauensee. A detour to the natural bathing area in the direction of Huschtesee is recommended.

In addition, the over 600-year-old royal oak in the immediate vicinity of the forester's lodge is a natural highlight. The House of the Forest (Haus des Waldes) offers the opportunity to learn about nature in a playful way.

The course of the trail has been documented as part of a LIFE project by the Brandenburg Nature Conservation Fund Foundation.

Length: 13 km, 3.5 to 5 hours

Start / Finish: Forest car park, from there access to the House of the Forest (0.8 km)

Route: Forest car park - Haus des Waldes - Frauensee - Schmölde D66 - Forsthaus Dubrow - Königseiche - Forest car park

Arrival and departure by public transport: Bus connections from Königs Wusterhausen railway station in the direction of Gräbendorf, Frauensee.
