The route passes through major residential areas, partly along the shores of Lake Krüpelsee and Lake Krimnicksee, with bathing areas, historic sights, idyllic rest areas in the forest and opportunities for exploring the world of nature. The route can also be walked in individual stages and combined with a steamer trip from or to Berlin. There are cafés and restaurants, water sports facilities and places to stay along the way, plus the Neue Mühle lido.
