Lake Teupitz is part of the Teupitz-Köriser lake chain with over ten interconnected lakes. Together with Lake Schwerin to the north, Lake Teupitz forms a 472-hectare-large area of water with countless bays, which has been used for recreation purposes by people from the surrounding area and nearby Berlin since the 1920s. Along the shore there are numerous camping sites, guest houses and holiday resorts. The bathing area in Egsdorf is situated on the edge of the village green and offers a wonderful view across Lake Teupitz and its islands as well as to Teupitz on the other side – one of the oldest settlements in the Mark Brandenburg region.

The bathing area includes a large lawn for sunbathing, seating with a view over the lake from the water's edge, and parking at the village green. Dogs are not allowed in the bathing area. The water in the bathing area is regularly monitored by the district health authority in accordance with the Brandenburg Bathing Water Ordinance and is of excellent quality.
