From the 86-metre-high elevation, visitors can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view. To the north, Berlin and the district of Rudow are close enough to touch, and to the south, the view extends unhindered into the Dahme lake district. The small peak itself is on Berlin territory and rightly bears its name. At its feet are the villages of Schönefeld, Waßmannsdorf, Großziehten and Kleinziethen.

Artificially created after the Second World War as a mountain of rubble and heaped up as a mountain of rubbish, it is now a popular recreational area with its seamless natural connection to Brandenburg area.
