Starting in Doberlug-Kirchhain, this cultural bicycle route leads along the River Elbe and Elster River to the town of Lutherstadt Wittenberg. In the triangular area of land where the states of Brandenburg, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt meet, you can discover the region in which the Reformation had its origins and the most interesting places from Martin Luther’s time. During the tour, you pass through historic centres with magnificent churches and castles as well as prestigious town halls.

How to get there: Take the RE5 (Elsterwerda) regional express train from Berlin central station to Doberlug-Kirchhain (about 2 hours).

Return journey: Take the IC 2384 (Rostock Hbf) intercity train from Lutherstadt Wittenberg to Berlin (about 45 minutes).

Route: Doberlug-Kirchhain, Schilda, Langennaundorf, Uebigau-Wahrenbrück, Falkenberg/Elster, Gräfendorf, Herzberg (Elster), Arnsnesta, Fremsendorf, Löben/Elster, Annaburg, Prettin, Dommitzsch, Listerfehrda, Iserbegka, Lutherstadt Wittenberg
