The starting point is the river ramp known as the “Badstube” on the Kleine Elster river in Maasdorf. The weir is about 300 metres from here. The boat needs to be carried around the weir. Then you can continue on the water. You leave the Kleine Elster river after around 500 metres and bend left into a recently created bend in the River Elster. This leads into a further bend around an artificially created dam, which interrupts the straight flow of the Kleine Elster river. Continue downstream to the fish ladder. A towing channel has been created on the left side for canoeists. From here, it is still another 1,200 metres to the “Barbecue area” landing stage.
