A church was built in Lebusa in 1727 based on the plans of the famous architect Pöppelmann. He was the Master Builder of Augustus the Strong and strongly influenced Dresden Baroque architecture. The church was an endowment from Gerald Moritz Friedrich von Milkau and was built as a simple hall church - the interior of which still continues to impress today. Among other things, it includes valuable Meißen tiles on two stoves in the interior. A true gem of Baroque architecture.

The Silbermann organ is well-known across state borders. The sound of the organ sets the tone for community celebrations and accompanies community singing. Music in worship is an important part of the proclamation, as it encourages the congregation to hear the Word of God.

With fourteen registers in a manual and in the pedal, the organ is one of Silbermann’s smaller instruments. Nevertheless, the organ’s typically sharp yet sweet “silvery sound” cannot be overlooked.

The church is part of the Elbe-Elster Kirchenstrasse Cycle Path: Route 5 “Togetherness in God”.

The church can be visited if booked in advance through the parish office.
