The ’hammer’ pond in Lindena near Doberlug-Kirchhain is considered to be the oldest pond in the Lower Lusatian region. The pond is well stocked with carp, tench and pike. Anglers can fish for trout, carp, tench, pike and other fish species in the Grünewalde fishing pond. The fish are kept in crystal clear spring water, and are later sold in the fish shop. The fish are also smoked in natural brick ovens, guaranteeing fresh oven-fresh smoked fish every day. Lake fishing has been operating on Lake Gräbendorf and in Rückersdorf gravel pit since 2007. This has made it possible to expand the range of fish to include further freshwater fish, such as perch and pike. The main fish caught in the Hammermühle pond, the carp, is certified by pro-agro and carries the “pro-agro” quality seal.
