The Elsterwerda-Grödel-Floßkanal canal is an artificial stretch of water that connects the River Elbe near Grödel with the Pulsnitz River near Elsterwerda. The canal was opened in 1748 and served to supply Dresden and Meißen with wood. The canal is on average between seven and nine metres wide. There are six widened passing places along the canal where the barges can meet. The body of water has a rich fish stock and is a popular spot for anglers. To the north of Prösen, opposite the Holzhof sports and leisure centre, a path leads along the southern bank of the canal.
