Angela Willeke's artistic signature has left its mark on many public buildings. In Cottbus, too, she has left a variety of traces, such as the 4.20 meter high stele "Metamorphosis", which she designed for Vattenfall in 2004. And as early as 1995, she won first prize at the Federal Garden Show here with her 'Multimedia Glass-Sound Object'. Anyone entering the gallery today is immediately captivated by an installation. It consists of exceedingly delicate, wave-shaped objects that hover above a mirror, like mosquitoes above a water surface. The mirror glows cobalt blue because it reflects a mural. The artist explains, "I call this installation 'Dance of the Mosquitoes.' I once worked on a similar installation as 'Deceleration.' When you walk through the space, the floating objects turn very gently, almost imperceptibly, and at a certain point a moment of light comes. There the light greets them and is in the next moment - shoo! - gone again. It's different from every position. I also had the installation at ART Brandenburg; it appealed to people immensely."
