A cultural oasis that fascinates both loyal and new guests every year. A place that combines history, spirituality, art and nature in a very specific way that the name Saxdorf stands for. The main interest is in the uniquely composed parish garden with its extremely rich abundance of plants and its changing, captivating sight throughout the seasons. An 800-year-old brick church and a music pavilion with lots of glass, which serve as concert venues, enclose it as well as the venerable vicarage. The latter houses exhibition rooms that provide information about the more than 50-year history of the cultural project, which is inextricably linked to the names of the visual artist Hanspeter Bethke and the pastor Karl-Heinrich Zahn. A changing art exhibition also shows works that were created in Saxdorf. The association Kunst & Kultur Sommer Saxdorf feels committed to the legacy of both protagonists. The garden is open daily during the season, and visitors can enjoy a concert every month.
