The Drandorfhof Estate gained its historic significance as a former knight’s estate and home of the von Drandorf family. Born in Schlieben in 1390 and burned at the stake in 1425 in Heidelberg, the pre-reformer Johann von Drandorf was one of the most important members of the von Drandorf family. Squire von Drandorf suffered the same fate owing to his bigamy.

The manor house, which still exists in its present form, together with stables and granary, was built in the 18th/19th century and is now a popular venue for all kinds of events and functions. The Schafstall (Sheep Barn) and the Backstube (Bakery) are available to hire for private functions and events, both equipped with kitchen and bathroom facilities. The local history museum located on the Drandorfhof Estate can also be visited.

Guests who have travelled a long way can stay comfortably in the fully furnished holiday apartments in the front house.

Visits to the Drandorfhof Estate are also possible at weekends by appointment.
