The Bockwindmühle post-style of windmill stands on the edge of the village of Lebusa nestling in the gently undulating hills of the region. The core of the mill is the oldest far and wide: the year 1686 is scratched into the lantern pinion. The staircase up to the milling gear is old and worn.

Flour is no longer milled in the Lebusa post mill. Otto Stuck, the last miller, has long since passed away. The men of the Mill Society are working hard to preserve the mill. They look after the repairs, pull a 50-kilogramme sack up on the winch, climb the stairs to the hopper, funnel, stamper and brake and, the real highlight, get the blades and the cogwheel turning.

Technical details:
  • Height: 12 metres
  • Width: 7 metres
  • Blade length: 8.5 metres
  • Tail length: 8 metres
  • Grinding gears: 2

Please telephone to arrange visits and guided tours.

Lebusa post mill is a stop on the Kohle-Wind & Wasser-Tour (Coal, Wind & Water Cycle Tour).
