The idyllic Rückersdorfer bathing and fishing lake is the perfect spot for recreational activities. There is a large sunbathing lawn with sports facilities directly overlooking the bathing area. A small bungalow estate is located not far from the bathing area.

The bathing area is cordoned off and the first ten metres are very shallow and ideal for children. The water quality of the lake is excellent (in 2005 it was awarded the “Blue Dot” by the Stiftung Warentest test centre - for the best water course in Germany). During the bathing season, the EU-compliant waters are checked every 14 days by the Health department.

The Rückersdorf bathing lake was created by the gravel mining, which started in 1927. The bathing area is redesigned every year with about 600 tonnes of screened and washed gravel from the lake.

  • Free access to the bathing and fishing lake

Access by public transport: Stop approximately 1,600 metres (20 minutes), path from the Rückersdorfer Schule stop
