Surrounding the palace is a two-hectare Palace Park with a pond set out in the 19th century. The park is particularly impressive in the late winter: thousands of snowdrops herald the approach of spring.

The palace now serves as a hostel with shared rooms, a civil registry room and event rooms.

Extensive construction work is currently taking place in the castle (until 2023). The castle hostel is closed and 13 beds are only available in the guest house until the construction work is completed.

Uebigau Palace Park is thought to have been built around the middle of the 19th century as a park for the Uebigau Knight’s estate. It is neither particularly large and does not contain unusual botanical treasures, nor is it even comparable to the large parks in Branitz, Sanssouci or Pillnitz. It is a minor aristocratic estate park.

Nonetheless, it is definitely worth a visit. The area around the palace has been restored to its original form in the last few years, the park is well-kept and it has been well integrated into the landscape. 

But Uebigau Park has something else to offer: it is transformed into a sea of snowdrops in February and March. In recent years, thousands of snowdrops from across Europe have been planted in the park. If you also want to grow snowdrops from your home in Uebigau, just bring a few with you and drop them off at the neighbouring garden nursery.
