Length: 250 km

With a total length of around 250 km, this cycle route takes you through a total of four federal states. The route runs mainly on special cycle paths, hiking trails and low-traffic country roads. The starting point is the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the destination is Leipzig Central Station.

You leave Berlin in a southerly direction and pass the charming lake area between Rangsdorf and the community of Am Mellensee. For about 35 km, the Berlin-Leipzig cycle path continues along the Flaeming skate routes with their fine and smooth asphalt surfaces. The route continues via Luckenwalde, Jüterbog and Zahna. A detour to the historic old town of Jüterbog with no less than 3 stops on the European Route of Brick Gothic is worthwhile. Then Lutherstadt Wittenberg with its UNESCO World Heritage Site invites you to linger.

Once across the Elbe, the Dübener Heide Nature Park follows shortly afterwards, with the spa towns of Bad Schmiedeberg and Bad Düben. The last section takes you via Wölkau and Merkwitz to the north-east of the trade fair city of Leipzig, where the route partly follows the Parthe river to the main railway station in the heart of the city.
