The history of the Bricciuskirche church in Bad Belzig is intrinsically linked to Eisenhardt Castle. The remains of the building that was presumably its predecessor can be seen behind the walls on the castle grounds. As a standalone sacral building built by the Dukes of Saxony-Wittenberg, the Bricciuskirche church expresses the kind of shows of sovereignty only found in the upper echelons of the nobility at that time. The successors from the House of Wettin dynasty included the Bricciuskirche church in their fantastic building programme. The conversions carried our then still define the church’s appearance today.
