The population of Sperenberg grew at the start of industrialisation, which also gave rise to the desire for a church of its own. Commissioned by Frederick the Great, the State Architect Georg Friedrich Berger designed and built the single-nave church, known as a Saalkirche, in 1752/53 on the foundation of a previous medieval building. From the outside, you are struck by the high semicircular apse and the segmented arched windows throughout the entire nave, which extend almost the full height of the wall of the church. They divide the plastered façade into a strictly geometric form.

The strict, yet at the same time minimalist, division continues in the interior. Your gaze is immediately drawn to the altar framed by an arch in the bright high interior of the church. The candlesticks on the altar were endowed by a Hamburg-based ship owner in 1612. The organ with its white façade originates from the organ builder Wilhelm Sauer based in Frankfurt (Oder).
