A sacristy in the shape of a star dating back to 1519 is located on the south side. The crossing tower, at the junction of the four arms of the cruciform, was essentially rebuilt in 1756, a construction unique in the Mark Brandenburg region.

The tall plastered upper section of the tower with its curved dome dates back to 1776.

In 1969, during restoration work of the eastern section of the interior of the church, remains were found of ornamental vaulted paintings from the construction. The main apse also concealed paintings from the 15th century – a Deesis, an iconic representation of Christ flanked by Mary and John the Baptist (Byzantine: "Youngest court").

During the extensive restoration work carried out between 1969 and 1985, the choral gable and the gable of the northern transept, as well as the windows in the nave – partly in the nave and almost completely in the flanking aisles – were replaced.
