Apart from incorporating the landscape of the Fläming region, the park grounds are distinctive because of their use of rare trees, especially conifers, which still represent a very important feature of the park today. From 1863 onwards, a parterre, beautiful woodland areas, ponds and a varied system of paths, as well as various historic vistas and a pheasantry in the woodland area of the park were created. Certain signs suggest that Gustav Meyer, Berlin's Garden Director and his pupil Lennés, helped to build the parterre.

After decades of neglect, the municipality, as the owner of the park, began the restoration of the section of the park near the castle in 1986. Up to now, a large section of the entire grounds has been restored. In 2016, the family tomb in the woodland area was restored, and in 2018 the tennis court in the central park was demolished. Wiesenburg is definitely worth a visit to see its park, as well as the refurbished and renovated castle.

Visitors can visit the castle grounds free of charge, although donations are requested at the entrance beside the parterre. Guided tours can be arranged through the Wiesenburg Tourist Information Centre (Telephone: +49 33849 30980). If you are arriving by car, please also use the parking lot at the primary school "Am Schlosspark". From there you have direct access to the park and you can reach the castle from the back.
