The historic Cranach courtyards were extensively renovated and are listed as historical monuments. In the courtyard at Markt 4, the Cranach Foundation shows the exhibition "Cranach's World. Life and Work of the Painting Family" and special exhibitions on historical or contemporary art. Visitors can also look over the shoulders of artists at work in the workshops. In the Renaissance Hall, surrounded by unique pieces of silver, felt and ceramics, guests can spoon up an Italian chocolate in the small gallery café, sip a coffee or enjoy a glass of wine on the sunny terrace. A changing selection of cakes sweetens the visit.
