The cozy, small town in Fläming is not only surrounded by wonderful green parks, but also two legends to which the Sabine town of Treuenbrietzen owes its name. The first is easy to tell: in the 14th century, a villain claimed to be the late old Margrave Waldemar. Everyone believed his hoax, only the Brietzen people were loyal to the rightful prince and were allowed to carry loyalty in their name after his victory. The second story begins with a strong woman named Sabinchen, who falls for a gruesome cobbler who incites her to theft, then cuts her head and in the end does not survive herself.
