Route description

Follow in the footsteps of a little rogue for almost half a day’s march (11 kilometres) along the Spitzbubenweg (Rogues’ Trail) around the medieval town centre of Jüterbog. “Spitzbuben” (rogues) were once not allowed into the town and gathered outside the gates and the town wall. So the trail runs along the historic town boundary past the preserved ramparts, towers and medieval town gates. On the circular route, hikers are rewarded with the views from the Höhen Blick (high view), Grünen Blick (green view), Historischen Blick (historic view) and Blanken Blick (sheer view), four wonderful and quite different viewpoints of the more than 1,000 year old town of Jüterbog.
Sights
  • Neumarkttor – one of the three impressive medieval town gates of Jüterbog.
  • The Liebfrauenkloster monastery and the Liebfrauenkirche church, one of the oldest in the entire state of Brandenburg.
  • The water tower. It was built in 1914 along with the waterworks. It is one of a total of four water towers in the town district of Jüterbog. The viewpoint from the foot of the tower, the water tower hill, offers a wonderful view of the town.
