The garrison museum and the “Roter Stern” Museum inform visitors in more detail about the historical periods. In spite of the sombre underground atmosphere, the Wünsdorf bunker facilities are worth a visit: the guided tours through the bunkers “Maybach I” and “Zeppelin” provide valuable insight into an unknown and secretive world. The “Radsportmuseum” (cycling museum) offers bicycle lovers some facts on regional history. Since the Russian Armed Forces’ withdrawal, the formerly restricted area has transformed into the communal district “Waldstadt-Wünsdorf”. Here, in the town’s heart, Germany’s first international book town has been established, featuring 300,000 books of all genres available in several second-hand shops – a delight for book lovers and collectors. The bunker shop additionally offers special literature on military history, as well as militaria.

The district’s “Neue Galerie” features regional artists and their works in alternating exhibitions in the gallery. The “Atelier Oskar” exhibits pictures and books of the deceased painter Hans Bierbrauer, also named “Oskar”.

Wünsdorf is also ideal for discovering nature. It is surrounded by beautiful woods and lakes, equally attracting hikers and water enthusiasts.
