The Marktplatz is dominated on the northern side by our Stubenrauch memorial. It is dedicated to probably the most famous district administrator of the Teltow district, who was in office from August 1885 to January 1908. Ernst von Stubenrauch earned great acclaim thanks to the construction of the Teltow Canal. The monument, created by the sculptor, Prof. Lepcke, is unfortunately only preserved as a fragment. The missing side parts, two bronze reliefs in female form, originally depicted the two rivers of the Havel and the Spree. Today, the monument is supplemented by two seating elements and a fountain.
