The "Millionenbrücke” bridge, which is actually called Hagenbrücke, is two bridges to be precise: The older part was built in 1936 as a stone vault. When federal motorway A9, which ran over it, was widened to six lanes in 1999, a modern concrete structure was built next to it - vehicles travelling in the direction of Leipzig and Berlin drive over the historic bridge and away from Berlin over the new structure.

There are different versions of the story of why it is called the Millionenbrücke. One is that it cost one million Reichmarks to build at the time. Another is that a million stones were used to build it.

The E11 European long-distance hiking trail and the nature park circular hiking trails 40 and 42 run under the Millionebrücke. In the immediate vicinity, there is also a forest administration nature forest cell - where the virgin forest of tomorrow is being created!
