The open air pool was opened in May 1976 and already had a competition swimming pool including a diving tower and pool, a non-swimmer pool, a paddling pool, sunbathing lawn, playgrounds for children, volleyball, table tennis and chess. There was also a sauna area, the bathroom and changing area and its own water supply from deep wells. At that time, the pool also owned the residence for the facility manager and a (public) restaurant, which also ran a kiosk during the bathing season. Thanks to the commitment of the friends’ association and numerous residents, Freibad Kiebitzberge GmbH was founded in 2013 with the participation of all of the three neighbouring municipalities of Kleinmachnow, Teltow and Stahnsdorf. The pool was completely renovated and now offers as much bathing fun as it ever did for both young and old.
