The “Alter Krug” museum and meeting place at Weinbergen 15, run by the local history association of the same name, is a unique monument to local history in the Mark Brandenburg region. In the cane-roofed building, which is one of the oldest town houses in the former Weinberge colony, the state of craftsmanship and technical development at the time is shown alongside constantly changing themed exhibitions. The museum also vividly illustrates the simple beauty and practicality of village construction. The local history association is proud to have one of the most beautiful so-called black kitchens in the state of Brandenburg in the “Alter Krug” museum - the name of the pub that operated in the building until 1890. In this smoky kitchen without windows, people once cooked over an open fire. The walls and ceiling have been blackened by soot and tar from the smoke. But the “Alte Krug” is more than just a small, fine museum of local history. It is also a venue for events and exhibitions. The “Alter Krug” building was completely renovated from October 2019 to March 2022. Bridal couples have also been able to say “I do” here in a rustic ambience since 2012.
