The local history museum is located in the "oldest building" (built in 1711 after the town fire) of the town of Teltow. The oldest preserved elements of this building provide interesting insights into former construction engineering. With an exhibition floor area of some 100 square metres, the museum brings the local history of the town to life with particular reference to its civic living, housekeeping and agriculture as well as local trades. A model of the town (1890), maps, drawings and photographs create a picture of the topographical location, structure and construction of the town.

The attic, which has been preserved from the original building, provides interesting insights into the roof construction of the period (known as the split tiled roof). The wall dormer on the roof (half-timbered filled with clay stakes) has been largely preserved and is one of the oldest parts of the building. Visits to the attic are only possible as part of special events or by prior arrangement. Due to the steep stairs and low ceiling height of the attic, access is at your own risk

The Teltow local history museum is run by the not-for-profit Teltow Local History Association 1990 e.V.
