Bishop-Faith-Rule (800-1550)” which showcases spectacular medieval finds, among them tracery and hanging paintings and two medieval underfloor heating systems. Furthermore, the exhibition covering over 1000 square metres explains the history of the castle in Ziesar through the various epochs, focusing on the complex architecture and its use throughout the different periods.

The exceptionally well preserved medieval castle in Ziesar was used as a residence for the Bishops of Brandenburg from the middle of the 16th century to the middle of the 16th century. The Reformation ended the period of the Bishops’ residence in Ziesar. The administration of the office remained in the castle until 1819. The castle then passed into private hands until it was nationalised at the end of the war in 1945. From the mid-1950s to the 1990s, the medieval castle walls housed a boarding school. Some time later at the turn of the millennium, the reconstruction of the present museum began and, at the same time, the restoration of the castle chapel. The latter cannot fail to impress with its magnificent brick façade dating from 1470 and its intact painting from around 1500. The south façade of the chapel has high windows, while the north side is windowless, due to the castle's defensive character in the Middle Ages.
