Dessau Museum is involved in the “Together we are Anhalt” joint project by Anhalt’s seven town and regional history museums. The decentralised exhibition project portrays the cultural-historic significance of the Anhalt region based on outstanding personalities and events, making a broad public both within and outside of Saxony-Anhalt aware of them. In addition to Ballenstedt, Bernburg, Coswig, Dessau, Harzgerode, Köthen and Zerbst, Jever in Lower Saxony is also a member of the federation that was ruled by the Anhalt-Zerbst government from the mid-17th century to the end of the 18th century.

The Johannbau is accessible from the basement to the attic, which means it is designed to meet the requirements of wheelchair users.
