The historic Ernst Vogel water mill is located on the edge of the old town of Beelitz. It was extensively renovated by the city, the mill technology could be restored, supplemented and repaired. The museum presents the history of the agrarian town of Beelitz in the broader context of culture and everyday life, with a special focus on agriculture, crafts and technology. The historic site, whose existence and use stem from the agricultural cultivation of grain, is particularly well suited to setting the stage for the theme. Grain as the overarching theme of the exhibition links the individual thematic areas such as grain cultivation and processing, mill technology, trades of the grain-processing professions and social aspects of the town's history using the example of the Beelitz artisan families.
