The 11.1-kilometre Spitzbergweg Trail takes you from Ruhlsdorf via Berkenbrück through fields and forests, past the Spitzberg hill. At just under 90 metres, the Spitzberg is one of the hills around Berkenbrück, which once protruded as islands out of the watery region.

From its starting point at the "Zur grünen Linde” inn in Ruhlsdorf, the trail heads north-west along the Alte Potsdamer Strasse and then turns left into the Berkenbrücker Weg heading out of Ruhlsdorf. The trail continues for approximately 3.5 kilometres through forests, past the Ruhlsdorf breeze block factory, passing fields with a view into the Buschgraben lowlands and across to Berkenbrück. Just before the village of Berkenbrück, you are treated to views over into the adjacent game enclosure with its fallow deer and wild boar. Beyond the village, the trail leads through a woodland area, past the Spitzberg hill. After approximately 3 kilometres, keep slightly to the right, as the Bärluch nature reserve is situated on the left. After a few hundred meters, the trail bends to the right and a forest path leads past the Seerosen pond and back to Ruhlsdorf. Walking between the forest and gravel pits and then through another area of woodland, follow the Alte Potsdamer Strasse, which brings you back to Ruhlsdorf and the starting point of your walk.
Length: approximately 11 kilometres
Start/End: “Zur grünen Linde“ restaurant, 14947 Nuthe-Urstromtal village district of Ruhlsdorf
Route signs: White arrow with a blue border, Tour no. 25, "Spitzbergweg"
