The observation tower at the Kulk is located at the former quarry at the Fuchsberg, on the southern outskirts of Gommern. The quarry, which was already closed at the beginning of the 20th century, is now a popular swimming lake. The Fuchsberg itself is a shifting sand dune protected as a natural monument, which originally belonged to a large dune area, but which was largely removed as building material. From the tower I have a wonderful view of the moated castle and the town of Gommern, Leitzkau Castle and in good weather you can even see as far as Magdeburg. At the lake you can also visit the rock garden with over 200 rock specimens, which indicate the former quarrying activity at this site.
