Dedicated to sustainability – the Edeka Center Specht is a family-run business that’s more than just a supermarket. From the very beginning this Edeka Center was constructed in a resource-friendly way, and it was built almost entirely self-sufficiently. The market is entirely heated using the exhaust heat from the cooling facilities, and uses green energy from a regional provider using renewable sources. There is an electric charging station for e-bikes and electric cars, as well as a market glasshouse, taking the first step towards being a self-sustaining supermarket. The primary focus is on regional and season produce to support the local Brandenburg and Berlin region and to offer low-emissions food from the surrounding area. It’s possible to do your shopping easily, sustainably and in an environmentally friendly way here.
