A former officers’ mess was converted into a very special cultural centre in 1996. Concerts, cabaret, readings, senior afternoons, theatre projects and lots of celebrations fill the multi-functional rooms of DAS HAUS with life. DAS HAUS is also home to the tourist information centre for the municipality of Niedergörsdorf and the “Altes Lager – 1870 bis heute” (Altes Lager – 1870 to now) permanent exhibition, which shows the military history and peaceful conversion of the location for civil use since the Berlin Wall came down in a lively manner. DAS HAUS also has something to offer those in love too: Couples can tie the knot in the Red Salon and plant a tree together after the ceremony in the newly created wedding garden – an everlasting symbol of their marriage. If the newly-weds want to celebrate their wedding in a stylish ambience, various rooms are available at DAS HAUS, from a champagne reception to a big party.
