The Waldhaus at Lake Bergwitzsee thrills big and small guests alike with its interactive exhibition ‘Wald, Wasser, Mensch’ (‘Wood, Water, People’), taking you on a playful tour of the landscape between the River Elbe and the Dübener Heide Nature Park. The exhibition also tells the story of how the former lignite-mining region has been transformed into a relaxation spot.

One highlight in the woodland section is the landscape game table where everyone can put their knowledge to the test. Visitors can discover how Lake Bergwitzsee came into being and what fish live here in the water section. The final section covers historical occupations like shingle-makers, who made traditional roof coverings. Visitors can also have phone calls with actors. Children can play, climb and let off steam around the Waldhaus with a beaver castle, a seven-senses tree house, a climbing and balance forest, and an action playground. The Waldhaus also stocks e-bikes, tour bicycles and an accessible bicycle for tours around Lake Bergwitzsee.
