The second stage of Tour Brandenburg covers 71 kilometres from Rathenow to Glöwen. The tour crosses Westhavelland Nature Park. From Lake Hohennauener See the route continues to Stölln, where Otto Lilienthal made his first attempts at manned flight. Passing through the former marshlands around Rhinow, the tour goes on to Havelberg. It is then just a stone’s throw from Havelberg Cathedral to Glöwen.

How to get there: Take the RE4 from Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof) to Rathenow (approximately 1 hour).

Return journey: From Glöwen take the RE2 (Cottbus) to Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof)(approximately 2 hours).

Route: Rathenow, Semlin, Hohennauen, Wassersuppe, Witzke, Schönholz, Stölln, Rhinow, Strohdehne, Kuhlhausen, Jederitz, Havelberg, Glöwen

  • Rathenow: Bismarck Tower, optics industry museum, St. Georg-Kirche church, St. Marien-Andreas-Kirche church
  • Semlin: Half-timbered church, bathing area
  • Hohennauen: Church, bathing area
  • Wassersuppe: Village church, bathing area
  • Stölln: Estate park, Lilienthal-Centrum, village church
  • Rhinow: Village church
  • Strohdehne: Natural bathing area
  • Havelberg: Dom St. Martin (cathedral), Japanese-style garden
