This easy bicycle tour runs along the banks of the lakes, offering superb beautiful views and insights into the natural surroundings. The route passes several bathing spots, picnic areas and other sights worth stopping at.

Length: 32 kilometres
Start/finish: Potsdam central station (Hauptbahnhof)
Logo/route sign: white sign marked “F1” in green

Directions:
Train: From Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof) on the S7 (approximately 45 minutes).
Car: From Berlin via the A115 (approximately 45 minutes).

Route: Potsdam, Caputh, Ferch, Petzow, Potsdam

  • Potsdam: Palaces and gardens
  • Caputh: Palace and park, Einstein’s Summer House, exhibition “Einstein's summer idyll in Caputh”, Stülerkirche, Heimathaus (local history centre)
  • Ferch: Museum Malerkolonie, Fischerkirche, Japanese Bonsai Garden
  • Petzow: Palace and park, Waschhaus am Haussee local history museum, church, Sanddorn-Erlebnis-Garten Christine Berger (sea buckthorn adventure garden)
  • Geltow: Church, hands-on weaving museum
  • Schill memorial (excellent view)
