The bicycle tour runs through the largest protected area in the state of Brandenburg – Westhavelland Nature Park, which in turn forms part of the largest inland wetland area in western Central Europe. From Rathenow, you first cycle to the lake Hohennauener-Ferchesarer See. From here, the route leads to the Untere Havelniederung (lowlands) with the Lake Gülper See nature reserve. The cycle tour continues through the Ice Age plateaus of Rhinow and Friesack, where you can learn about the history, landscape and culture of these areas.

  • Train: Take the RE5 regional train from Berlin central station (Hauptbahnhof) to Rathenow (approximately 1 hour).
  • Car: From Berlin via the B5 and B188 to Rathenow (about 2 hours).

Route: Rathenow, Ferchesar, Stechow, Kotzen, Haage, Friesack, Kleß, Rhinow, Gülpe, Rathenow
