Covering a distance of 1.111 kilometres, the Tour Brandenburg will soon be Germany’s longest-distance cycling route. The tour leads around Berlin and through the whole state of Brandenburg. This tour encompasses routes that provide for visiting 29 cities and towns in Brandenburg featuring a historic district. Not just cities and towns are scheduled to be seen. The tour also offers the cyclist insight into Brandenburg’s countryside, i.e. into its eleven wildlife parks, three biosphere reserves and one national park, which will make nature – as nowhere else in Germany – a fantastic experience. Last but not least, the tour makes it possible to discover Brandenburg’s wonderful rivers, either still unknown to the cyclist, such as the Schwarze Elster and Neiße River, or already known like the rivers Elbe, Spree, Havel and Oder.

Cycling Path Conditions/Path Construction

The tour consists of well-developed, largely paved cycling paths. Wide sections of the Tour Brandenburg have already been built, signposted and can be used without restrictions. The bike path was initially launched on 7 July 2007, but some sections are still being developed.
