Location:

An observation tower and two covered observation stands are located on the southern shore of Lake Gülper See, by the small asphalt road between Prietzen and Gülpe. The observation towers are located in the immediate vicinity of the road. The tower can be reached via a short footpath through the forest (information panel by the road).

Observations:

Direct view of the shallow lake with open shore area. The lake is an important resting place for cranes, ducks, geese, gulls, terns and shorebirds. In summer and autumn, there is a spectacular influx of bean geese and white-fronted geese in the evenings (over 100,000 birds on a regular basis). In front of the tower there is a small peninsula where a particularly large number of water birds gather to rest and can be observed very clearly.

How to get there:

Public transport: RE 2 to Rathenow, bus 684 to Prietzen, 400 metres to the mill

GPS: 52° 44‘ 0.01“ N | 12° 14‘ 55.67“ E
