The village’s Neo-Baroque church has been rebuilt several times throughout its history. A previous Late Medieval building was repaired in 1555 and then rebuilt for the first time in the 18th century. In the mid-19th century, the Borsig industrialist family took over the local country estate. A tomb for the Borsig family was added to the church when they took over in 1866. In 1922, the church was once again extensively rebuilt as a hall church according to plans by architect Eugen Schmohl, who only retained the foundation walls. The round sacristy in the Neo-Baroque style was built to the south and the stand for the ruling nobility to the north.

At the same time, the mausoleum of the Borsig family, who has developed the country estate in Groß Behnitz into an agricultural model farm, was built on the south side. The mausoleum has an underground burial chamber. Nowadays, the country estate is known as Landgut Stober and attracts visitors from beyond the region with its organic hotel, conference centre and restaurant.
