The history of the church building and the composition of the interior fittings of Haage village church reflect the development of the region: The former church dating from the 16th century was destroyed in a fire in 1806. In 1817, an emergency church was built and its tower nearly collapsed when the bells were being hung. Then, in 1861/62, the free-standing Gothic Revival tower that stands there today was built to the west of the church nave.

After the dilapidated emergency church was torn down, the building of the new church nave began in 1939/40. However, the building of the church had to be postponed until 1950 because of the war. The impressive pulpit altar made of dark, stained oak dating from 1712/13 came from Döberitz village church. This village had to make way for the military training area. The chancel entrance is framed by two larger-than-life angels. The organ was made by VEB Orgelbau Frankfurt (Oder) and dates from 1974. Visitors can also find a place to reflect in the small mourning hall even when the church is closed.
