The half-timbered church in Milow, under the ancient trees of the former churchyard, is a real eye-catcher. The church was built in 1695 and has a west tower with a curved cupola and lantern. In 1981, the tower’s cupola was restored and was given a new copper skin in place of the slated roof.

The interior of the church impresses with its colourfulness. The segmented, flat, painted wooden ceiling and the wooden altarpiece with its winding, auricular style columns and frames are particularly impressive. In the central field, there is a painting of the Crucifixion and the pediment shows the Redeemer between two former Roman slaves. The balustrades of the north and west galleries and the east pews are decorated with 37 semi-relief panel paintings. They depict Adam, the progenitors, kings and prophets from the Old Testament as well as the apostles and the last image of Christ.

The double bell was reinstated in 1929, though only until the Second World War. Descendants of Treskow donated a bell to the church of their forebears in 1994, almost 400 years later. It bears the inscription “Er ist unsere Friede” (He is our peace) and the historic date of November 9, 1989.

The church can be viewed by arrangement.
