This single-aisle, late-Gothic brick-built Church of St. Jacob was built around 1320. The church belonged to St. Jacob’s Hospital just outside the city. The building was known as the “Mad Chapel”. The chapel was set back eleven metres to the west due to the widening of the Jacobstrasse road in 1892.
