The Marienberg public park and garden monument is the most important and largest green public space in the city of Brandenburg an der Havel. Rising to 69 metres, the Marienberg Park is the highest point in the city on the River Havel and provides an unforgettable panoramic view of the city and its surroundings. The Friedenswarte (Peace Observatory), which was built in 1974 as an observation tower, is a landmark of the city.
The 30-hectare park has some very unique attractions, including the Shell Grotto, historic shrub garden, vineyard, open-air stage and Friedenswarte Observatory. In 2015, the Marienberg Park was completely redesigned for the German National Garden Show.
