The history of Wagenitz has been linked to the history of the von Bredow family since the 14th century. The park was originally designed as a baroque garden and, 100 years later, it was generously converted into an English-style landscape park. The small-scale architecture, so typical of an English park, can be found in Wagenitz: a "Love Island" on one of the ponds as well as von Bredow family burial monuments, which can still be seen today. Unfortunately, a pillared hall painted with landscapes, an artificial grotto and several greenhouses are no longer standing today. The extensive tree population in the park was still intact at the end of the Second World War. Today, only 10 hectares of this impressive park still remain. The latest horticultural measures once again made the historic structures of the park visible and underline the fairy-tale beauty of this landscape park. Currently, sculptures by the Japanese artist Takayuki Daikoku, who lives in Havelland, are showcased in the park.
