Learn about the history of the cathedral and Hanseatic town by the river Havel, based on selected buildings, stories and anecdotes. Strolling through the beautiful Hanseatic town, we will see secular buildings from the past few centuries, as well as the venerable Cathedral of St Mary with its timeless charm. There is no better way to explore the historic town island, the cathedral district or the flora and fauna of the cathedral and Hanseatic town Haveland, than to join one of the many town walks.

Experience the cathedral and Hanseatic town Havelberg on a daytime or night tour. The “nature meets history” tours are a particular highlight. Certified guides share plenty of interesting information about the town and its surroundings. Tours of the Cathedral of St Mary and the religious buildings in Stendal are now available with certified guides who are experts in the area of Gothic architecture.

Furthermore, there are modules for groups and days out in the region, for example to Wust, Jerichow, Tangermünde, Schönhausen, Stendal or Bad Wilsnack. We will join you on your coach tour of the Prignitz region and time will pass by in a flash, as we explain about the region and the places and sights worth seeing.
  • Guided tour of the town (all year on Sundays at 11 a.m., the meeting point is on the cathedral square, at the town relief overlooking the town island)
  • Guided history tour
  • Cathedral tour
  • Night tour
  • Full moon tour
